Why We're Doing This

We recently came across this new Gen Z term called a micro-cation — gone for the weekend, but back with a fresh perspective. Honestly, we couldn't think of a better way to describe this trip.

Monsoon by the Coast is our idea of the perfect weekend escape, where the lush green Western Ghats meet the wild Konkan coastline, hidden freshwater pools flow into the sea, and every winding road somehow ends with a cup of hot chai. Instead of squeezing ten attractions into two days, we've handpicked a handful of experiences that truly capture the magic of the Konkan during the monsoon.

Come for the Konkan. Stay for the experience. Go back with a camera roll full of memories — and a few stories you'll probably be telling for a while.

The Itinerary

An overnight drive down, a full weekend by the coast, and one last waterfall on the way home.

01

Hidden Waters & A Home by the Sea

Friday night, we meet in Mumbai and set off on our overnight road trip to Guhagar — icebreakers, games, music and plenty of chai before we wake up by the coast. Since villa check-in is only around noon, we'll grab breakfast and head straight to a hidden freshwater pool for a swim away from the crowds.

By afternoon we're back at the villa to settle in and unwind, before heading out for sunset at Anjanwel Lighthouse and Dolphin Point. The night back at the villa is all community games, music and conversations that get deeper as it goes on.

Highlight of the Day

Sunset at Anjanwel Lighthouse & Dolphin Point, with panoramic views of the Arabian Sea.

🌙 Overnight: Guhagar
02

Konkan Flavours & The Road Home

A slow Konkan morning — chai by the pool, a leisurely breakfast or a walk to Khalchapat Beach, before a traditional Konkani lunch served on banana leaves. Then it's time to check out and begin the drive back, with one last stop at Savatsada Waterfall in full monsoon flow.

As night sets in, we make our way back to Mumbai, reaching in the early hours of Monday morning with a camera roll full of memories and a few new friends.

Highlight of the Day

Savatsada Waterfall in full monsoon glory, and the drive back — playlists, roadside chai and good company.

Frequently Asked

Not at all. A few short walks to viewpoints, beaches and waterfalls, but nothing that requires prior trekking experience. If you're comfortable walking on uneven ground and don't mind muddy shoes, you're good to go.
Exactly how we'd want it — lush green landscapes, cool temperatures and plenty of rain. You'll probably get drenched at least once, so pack a poncho and footwear with good grip.
If conditions are safe, yes. We'll only enter the water if our trip leaders are confident it's safe based on the weather and water levels that day. Safety always comes first.
Absolutely. A large percentage of our travellers join solo, and weekend trips are one of the easiest ways to meet like-minded people.
